Hey, we would like to camp for 2 nights, and bring a paddle board and kayak. We don’t own a boat, but would this be doable with one of the shuttles? (To bring the tents, bucket for waste, some firewood, cooler, etc.).

how is the section by Bunts pass. we hear the sea oats are gone after the storm and is not ready for camping.. we were going to take the kids there Oct 28 and 29th… any info on conditions would be appreciated.

      Hi Dave,

As I understand it, the only issue caused by the storm was a partial closing of the southern pass – however, that pass (leading to the inside of the island) did reopen naturally after a few days. The sea oats are a perennial grass, and will come back naturally by spring. There should be no problem camping anywhere in the south public use area. Now is a beautiful time of year to camp.

      Hope this helps,

I am interested in going to this beach, I understand that I can only get there by ferry? How much does it cost? Is their a parking fee for my car? Can I spend the whole day there or is their a ferry schedule I would have to follow? If so, what is the schedule?
